Gordon Gallery : Overview

Located at the gateway to the Geelong Cultural Precinct, The Gordon Gallery is a stunning exhibition space and events venue. Hosting an exciting annual schedule of exhibitions, forums and events including the Geelong Regional Artist Exhibition and The Gordon Collection.

Conveniently located across from the Geelong rain station, in the stunning Bostock Memorial Building on the Corner of Gordon Avenue and Fenwick Street.

FACILITIES

The Gordon Gallery is an excellent facility for art exhibitions, mixed media exhibitions, fashion parades, small concerts and recitals.

Lighting and sound equipment is maintained at advanced operational levels and moveable display screening and furnishings make for great versatility. A lockable storage area of approximately 20 square metres is attached to the gallery.

Public access is available through two entrances - one providing wheelchair ramp access to electronic doors. The gallery also has office space attached, with adjacent service kitchen and toilet facilities.

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote the visual and performing arts to Gordon students, staff and the wider community
  • Promote the educational activities of the Gordon Institute to the community
  • House the Gordon Institute art collection
  • Provide a venue for the display of staff and student work
  • Provide a venue for regional artists to exhibit or perform their work
  • Provide a venue for the generation of income through the exhibition of works of art to sustain the operations of the Gordon Foundation Ltd
  • Provide a venue for travelling exhibitions and the loan of works of art from public and private institutions
