Australian Apprenticeships & Traineeships : About

The Gordon Institute's Apprenticeships and Traineeships (Australian Apprenticeships) are a great way to combine employment and training, which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Australian Apprenticeships:

  • Offer a head start in a chosen career.
  • Provide paid work and structured training that can be on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both.
  • Recognise existing skills and prior experience, potentially reducing formal training time.
  • 'Competency based' training which means that training can be completed when the required skills level are reached.
  • Are available either part-time or full-time
  • Can also be combined with school education
  • Lead to nationally recognised qualifications and skills which provide the basis for further education and training over the course of your working life.
  • Provide a pathway from school to work.

Testimonials

"Having the Gordon Institute tailor site-specific training is great for us. It means the staff are trained at the site where they normally work, so it's as practical as it can get. There are many benefits to on-site training: workers are in their own environment and feel confident about receiving the training and learn more specifically to their worksite. A great benefit of training with the Gordon Institute is that it provides training for our staff in both Victoria and New South Wales"
